Started in 2002, the respiratory therapy program is the longest running unit in Miami, FL. Our care is focused on critical respiratory cases. Our patients are primarily admitted from Intensive Care Units, Long Term Acute Care Hospitals Trauma Units, Critical Care Units and Respiratory Units with similar diagnosis of respiratory failure, chronic respiratory disability or trauma.
Our approach is to provide individuals that are oxygen-dependent with a multidisciplinary care team of Pulmonologists, Respiratory Therapists, Nurses, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Nutritionist and Social Workers. Our dedication to our respiratory patients consists of acute care nursing staffing ratios and high respiratory staffing. Our “Weaning Team†excels in providing an intensive program which is initiated upon admission to progressively work towards independence.
